ChiropracticChiropractic is a health care discipline that emphasizes the inherent power of the nervous system and addresses the spinal body to alleviate “pinched nerves”. To be fully alive you need to be fully connected. When the spine is out of alignment and “pinched nerves” are present your nervous system sends pain signals to get your attention. You can go for many weeks without food, for a week or so without water, for a few minutes without air, but not even a second without the life energy and information streaming across your nerves. Adjustments restore proper movement to the spine and relieve nerve pressure, naturally. As the largest drugless health care profession in the world, doctors of chiropractic naturally alleviate suffering as well as teach how to live life to its fullest potential!
Prenatal ChiropracticPregnancy is a time when we need the very best of care. Spinal health starts in the womb. A child who is positioned correctly within a balanced maternal pelvis will grow a healthy spine and experience an easy birth. This will not only relieve the pains associated with pregnancy but will also assist in an easy birth process. We are certified in"The Webster Technique" which focuses on the correction of sacral subluxation to restore balance to the maternal pelvis, in turn positively effecting the growing baby. In addition we hold a Fellowship from the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (FICPA) which deems us specialists in working with Pregnancy and Pediatrics. Our chiropractors work closely with many OB/GYNs and midwives in the area to create a cohesive team for the pregnant patient. Our TechniquesChiropractic Adjusting
Structural health refers to normally functioning spinal joints and nerves. When the spine is out of balance pain is always the result. Neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain all can be relieved with Chiropractic care. These pain signals are messages from our body that there is imbalance in our system that needs attention. Listening to these messages and seeking care is honoring the bodies wisdom and innate intelligence. Remember that the same nerves that effect our musculoskeletal system also control and coordinate our organ system, immune system and every system in the body. Therefore maintaining a healthy spine and nervous system, improves health throughout the entire body. Chiropractic is also shown to have the best results with improving posture and decreasing the progression of arthritis. At InnerMovement we use various techniques in combination with our hands on approach. Each patient is treated as an individual and we take time to assess your personal spinal needs. Some patients benefit from Manual adjusting techniques, some benefit from non-Force adjusting techniques (like Prenatal patients) such as SOT blocking, Activator or Impulse IQ adjustments. Whatever your condition, age or adjusting style preference WE CAN HELP! Our office has a 3 visit rule: If your pain is not reduced by at least 50% in 3 visits then it is not a Chiropractic case. In these rare cases, we will than take the time to refer you to a trusted doctor within our referral network to be certain you get the best care. For research showing how effective Chiropractic treatment is for acute pain and chronic conditions visit: www.f4cp.org Chiropractic Wellness After Chiropractic treatment and lifestyle modification have resolved your initial health crisis, you will have the opportunity to choose Chiropractic preventative/wellness care. You are only as young as your spine, so maintaining spinal health with movement, flexibility, good posture and periodic spinal checkups, is a key component to overall health. Hippocrates, referred to as the father of medicine said, "Look well to the spine as the cause of disease". Of course you can always discontinue care. Yet, most of our patients choose to visit us for periodic checkups. Why? Periodic Chiropractic checkups will help you maintain your improved health and continue the healing process you’ve already begun. Why wait until you are sick or in pain to do something about your health? Chiropractic helps you STAY healthy, to prevent future problems. So you feel your best everyday of your life! For research on how Chiropractic care improves immune function, lowers blood pressure, supports peak performance etc visit: www.f4cp.org Chiropractic Kinesiology Kinesiology refers to functional muscle testing used to assess imbalances in the body. The philosophy governing the technique is called the Triad of Health which states that whole body health lies in the balance between Structural Health, Nutritional Health and Emotional health. In our office the most powerful technique we do is correct spinal misalignments but the addition of services to address body chemistry and emotional stress create a profound approach above and beyond the typical Chiropractic office. NeuroEmotional Technique It has been known for thousands of years in many healing traditions that emotional stress effects health. The Chinese associate the kidneys with fear (when we are scared to death we pee our pants) the liver with anger (the underlying emotion in alcoholism) and the lungs with grief (the most common cause of death in the elderly is lung related or should we say grief related). The Chinese were clear that these very physical responses could in fact have emotional roots. We now know the effects of accumulated stress and emotional pain can have widespread implications on the physical body. This simple technique allows us to address this overlooked area of health. www.netmindbody.com |

Dr. Pete Borboa, DC
Dr. Pete is a skilled and passionate Chiropractor with over 18 years experience in adjusting and spinal rehabilitation. He was born and raised in Los Angeles. He obtained his Bachelors of Human Biology in 2003 and Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2004 from Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles. This institution is well known for having strong Chiropractic philosophy as well as producing doctors of Chiropractic with incredible adjusting skills.
He was fortunate enough to work with one of the leading instructors of a powerful spinal remodeling system called The Pettibon System, for several years. This gives him a unique ability to help you take your spinal care to the next level and achieve long lasting results in less time. “What I love about Pettibon is that it gives the power over to patients. I teach them how to use the spinal rehabilitation equipment they need and we work together to fix their spine. Adjustments are simply not enough with all the stresses we face in this modern life.” Dr. Pete is also trained in the following treatments: SOT non-force adjusting (used for geriatric, pediatric or any patient who prefers non-force adjusting), myofascial release (for soft tissue rehab), extremity assessment and adjusting, and wellness nutrition to optimize healing and reduce inflammation.
He is Webster Certified (adjustment focusing on balancing maternal pelvic muscles and ligaments and reducing the interference to the nervous system) and works regularly with patients who suffer from back pain or wish to help align their spine for optimal birthing. Many local OB/GYNs have been working with us for nearly 20 years now via referrals.
He knows that Chiropractic is a powerful, essential component of health, yet simply a piece of the puzzle. He believes strongly that our daily choices have longstanding affects on us and those we care about. How we eat, move and think are the pillars for the foundation of health and the life we build for ourselves and our families.
Dr. Pete stays active and lives the healthy lifestyle that he teaches his patients. He has completed the Aids/Lifecycle (7 day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles) four times and has done several obstacle course races throughout the years, including Tough Mudder and Spartan races. He knows sometimes we all lose motivation and focus, but he encourages everyone to seek new ways to stay engaged in their physical health. As Dr. Pete will say, “Health is simply a means to an end, a vehicle for you to create the life you desire, a life full of meaning, fulfillment and joy. What life will you choose?"
