Pre-employment Physical
Pre-employment physicals generally include checks of the employee's vital signs and overall physical condition. The particular tests that might be performed will depend on the tasks of the position for which the applicant has received a conditional job offer. A basic pre-employment physical exam will include the following:
- health questionnaire
- musculoskeletal assessment
- neurological assessment
- vision test (addl. ishihara color blind test as needed)
- general non-audiometric hearing assessment
- cardiovascular assessment
- organ specific assessment
- pulmonary exam
- body composition analysis
- completion of appropriate paperwork
TB Testing
A TB test checks to see if you have been infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosiscomplex, which is the bacteria that causes tuberculosis (TB). A TB test checks to see if you are or have been infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosiscomplex, which is the bacteria that causes tuberculosis (TB). There are two types of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) screen tests: a skin test and a blood test. A TB blood test is also called an Interferon-Gamma Release Assay (IGRA), also called “QuantiFERON” will be the one performed by our office and required by your employer.
